Lindy Boggs Medical Center
Before it was Lindy Boggs, named for the Congresswoman, this was Mercy Hospital. Built in the 20's it eventually merged with Southern Baptist in the 90's becoming Mercy Baptist. During Hurricane Katrina employees & families of the patients came here to ride out the storm. Everything was going well until the levees broke. Despite efforts to save everyone, not all of the patients made it. As of June 2019, a developer is talking about making it an elderly home. I may have just gotten the last look inside before they start the renovations.

Trip 2
-
This clock & the one in the next picture have both stopped at the exact same time! Apparently this is when the water arrived in the basement from Hurricane Katrina.

-
The basement area must have been used for treating patients too. This iv bag is still hanging almost 15 years later.
-
A shot of New Orleans from one of the roof tops.
-
Looking down into that square black hole were the eight or so stories the elevators travelled. Unnerving.
Trip 1
-
This is a cell phone shot I wanted to share with an explorer buddy of mine who wasn't with me at the time.
-
The best shots are always the ones of things you didn't expect to find.
-
This was nerve racking! Knowing you're 5 floors up & you're peering down an elevator shaft. With your camera hanging over the edge for the shot. Note tripod legs in shot. Don't fail me now tripod!
-
As you can see, this hospital last treated patients the day before Hurricane Katrina.
-
While getting this shot, my main light dies. Not good. Thankfully I had a back up led flashlight. Until I get back outside, all of the shots from here on had to be light-painted. It was pitch black, I mean you couldn't see anything!
-
This portion of the hospital appeared to have burned. It's all in such bad shape it's actually hard to tell.
