Who thought I'd ever visit District 12 from the movie The Hunger Games?! All of the 1st movie was filmed in North Carolina. It was filmed at a real village called Henry River Mill Village. Built in 1905, the workers/tenants of the Mill were compensated with housing & their own currency, the Doogalu, which eventually was deemed illegal. Abandoned in the 1980's, many descendants still remain in the area & participate in the celebration of the movie & the set.
