Stony Texas

While shooting this school at sunrise, a local resident stopped thinking I was his nephew who keeps up the property. I walked over & spoke with him & got some of the history. He went to the school here & so did his parents & grandparents. This three room school house was built in the 1800's & the population has remained very low. A post office opened in the late 1800's, but closed soon after in the early 1900's. He said they used to have school reunions in the field. People would bring their rv's, cook meals & have turkey shoots. Inside, the school has been used for many other things & some upgrades have been made. A few of the windows have been broken, but it looks like it is due to storm damage. This was my first venture exploring Texas & I hope to see more.
